Our Heritage
Our Story
The Hills Group story began in 1990 when Edward Hill started his brickworks, in Morris Street, Swindon. From these humble beginnings, the company flourished, passing through generations of Hill family members who have blended hard work, innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit to shape a regional business success story.
Over the decades, the company diversified into sand and gravel quarrying, waste management and housebuilding – the latter a logical extension for a company with roots in the manufacture of bricks and tiles. The Hills Group remains a family-run business to this day, led by Chairman Mike Hill, Edward’s great-grandson, with Mark Tinson leading Hills Homes as Divisional Managing Director.

Our Team
We’re proud of the team behind Hills, bringing together a range of experience and expertise, and working collaboratively to deliver consistent, high-quality results with a strong focus on detail and client care.
Mark Tinson
Mark was appointed Managing Director – Homes in 2025, following several years in senior operational roles within the division. With a background in both construction and military leadership, Mark brings a disciplined, delivery-focused approach to housebuilding. A Chartered Project Professional and Member of the Association for Project Management, he has led successful residential developments with a focus on quality, safety, and community value. Mark’s earlier career in the British Army and Royal Marines instilled in him a strong foundation in leadership, planning, and resilience – skills he continues to apply in the housing sector.
Linda Cahill
Linda Cahill is the Sales Manager at Hills. She was appointed to the role in 2025 after building a strong career with the company over the past 13 years. Linda originally joined Hills in Customer Care and later progressed to the role of Sales Coordinator before being promoted to Sales Manager. Her long-standing experience within the business gives her a deep understanding of both customer service and sales operations. Linda is the friendly face you see holding the customer’s hand from the beginning to the end of their buying experience.
Scott Turner
Scott is an experienced Construction Manager who has worked on a range of residential developments across Wiltshire and the Southwest. Over the past decade in housebuilding, Scott has been involved in delivering both multi-unit schemes and bespoke, high-end homes, with a focus on maintaining consistent standards of quality, safety, and programme performance.
During his career, Scott has received several NHBC Pride in the Job Awards, a Seal of Excellence and a recently a regional LABC award for a development in Poulshot, Devizes. Scott takes a practical, hands-on approach on site and works closely with colleagues, subcontractors and stakeholders to help ensure homes are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
